Chanel’s New Boutique @ KLCC & Limited Edition Handbags Exclusive to Malaysia Only!
Last Friday, 17 June 2011, I was invited to the media tour of the newly reopened and relocated Chanel store at the new Lot C annexe in KLCC. This 4,810 square feet Chanel boutique is designed by New York based architect Peter Marino, who does all Chanel boutiques worldwide.
With the concept of the “cosy home” in mind, the new Chanel boutique is made to look (and feel) like a residence, with an open rooms concept, so that one can walk about freely and seamlessly from one “room” or “salon” to another: Ready-to-Wear, Accessories, Shoes, Watches, and Fine Jewellery. The clever use of mirrors within the store also makes the store seem MUCH larger. The natural light that comes through via the glass windows coupled with the use of warm lighting throughout the store adds to the cosy factor, and is thus felt to be more inviting, especially for their clientele. Sofas and chairs are also strategically placed throughout the store; all made of Chanel’s signature tweed.

The RTW salon which can be partitioned into a private area. There’s also a VIP fitting room and area in the new store that is cleverly concealed. Try to see if you can spot (within this picture) which bits would lead you to this VIP area.
To commemorate this occasion, Chanel has also released 2 of their iconic bags in metallic gold lambskin. Both these bags bear a gold metal plaque on the interior with “Malaysia Exclusive”.
Now, here they are up close:
The medium flap in metallic gold lambskin embellished with pearls, and multi-strand chain strap with pearl details RM 10,480
Gold metallic lambskin with coloured jewels and “bugs” theme (in line with and inspired by the S/S 2011 collection), RM 13,830
The other Malaysia Exclusive is also a tweed jacket in Navy (also bearing the words “Malaysia Exclusive” on the tag). The jacket retails for RM 12,680
As for the number of pieces of each item available, Chanel will not be disclosing this information.
Thanks to Angeline for the personal tour of the store!
