Cartier Introduces the Jeanne Toussaint Bags Collection
When it comes to watches and fine jewellery, Cartier would be a brand that is on the tip of anyone’s tongue. But, did you know that Cartier also has leather goods in its store?
The brand introduces their latest collection, Jeanne Toussaint, named after the Cartier muse. But no, “this is no homage, rather an artistic dedication of absolute elegance, a rare blend of freedom and sophistication”. A timeless classic of half crocodile and half smooth leather, it is, without a doubt, an artisanal creation where almost 100 steps are required to put the bag together including bar tacking, edge staining, saddle stitching, and cross-stitching (and no, we’re not talking about the DIY cross-stitch kits most of us dabbled with at some point in our lives). And these aren’t exactly bags that any Cartier craftsman is allowed to construct because both bags require the artisan to have at least 5 years of experience before being allowed to do so.
