Patricia Field for MCM

I’m sure to many of you, the name Patricia Field needs no introduction. Best known for her quirky and eccentric fashion sense, her red hair, and more importantly, the pivotal role that she played as stylist for Sex and the City and Ugly Betty, Patricia Field recently collaborated with old-school leather goods company MCM on a Limited Edition line.

Drawstring Bag – $550

Medium Reversible Shopper with detachable pouch. $550
Reversible Large Shopper Tote – $620

All Patricia Field for MCM bags are available in 3 colours – Blue, Green, and Cognac (All colours shown above)
Please note that for the reversible bags, it bears the MCM logo (without illustration) as shown on the little pouch that comes with the bag.

The Verdict: Although I love Patricia Field’s ability to create different looks for different characters in TV series’ like SATC and Ugly Betty, I’m not a fan of the bags — they’re too Harajuku street style for me. By collaborating with an icon like Patricia Field, it was perhaps MCM’s desperate attempt to make a comeback and reinstate itself as one of the leading luxury leather goods companies and also to appeal to a more youthful crowd. However, I’m sorry to say this, but MCM remains a “has-been”.
