#PFW: Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2013 Runway & Bags Report

The key detail on Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2013 runway this season? Polka dots, and lots of it, especially in the form of neck scarves that accompanied each and every single look that came down the catwalk. And as towards the end, there were polka dots everywhere including the RTW and bags. That may have been the central theme that seemed to tie the collection together, but of course, it wasn’t just that.

Then came the dressed that I loved, with lean body-fitting black dresses with peekaboo polka dot prints at the bottom of them. But I really didn’t quite understand the logic of the whole striped stockings and those clunky shoes that accompanied them, nor their appeal.

And then there are the bags…

The Verdict: For Fall/Winter 2013 bags were either small or severely oversized. There were also just 2 main silhouettes that came down the runway – a domed-shape top handle bag that was similar in shape to Louis Vuitton’s Alma, and a small shoulder bag with a frame top that came in both polka dots and stripes (though I personally prefer the striped version) with a thick detachable leather strap that sorta dressed the bag down a little, and made it a little less evening and a little more sporty.
