#PFW: Loewe Spring/Summer 15 Bags Report
After having seen the Men’s Spring/Summer 15 collection and the revamping of the brand as a whole, this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for with bated breath – Jonathan Anderson’s debut women’s collection for Loewe. And with this, it’s back to the runway for the Spanish label, after seasons of showroom presentations. This time around, it was held at the Isamu Noguchi garden of the UNESCO building in Paris.
The Verdict: Jonathan’s introductory capsule collection for women was most definitely a precursor to the SS15 collection (particularly the bag silhouettes) that was shown in Paris recently. The woven theme was evident on the runway: we see the Amazona, a variation of the current “Circle” bag from the current capsule collection, and even the T-pouch (not shown above) in either the signature Oro, bi- or multi-coloured leather in this style. The deconstructed look from the Men’s SS15 collection also came through in terms of RTW and the document bag. However, less “genderless” styles were present as more “feminine” styles as characteristic of the Loewe’s pre-revamp days were still apparent, particularly the pyramid-esque clutch with bow detail which is my absolute FAVE — *points to the one in pink leather*!! Apart from that, the Puzzle bag now comes in a smaller version with a top handle which I much prefer over the current one which I found slightly too oversized. In short, I was pleasantly surprised! Well done Jonathan!
