Hollywood A-Lister Penélope Cruz and her sister Monica Cruz have a bag named after them! That’s right! The Cruz sisters have collaborated with Loewe, and the result? The Cruz bag!

According to Penelope, “We [both she and her sister] wanted to do something special but also practical. And we wanted the design to have an unmistakable Spanish element, which is why we chose the polka dot”. Her sister Monica also chips in saying that “we wanted a bag that would be useful for women who need to carry many things and have them all to hand at the same time. That’s why we included pockets on the outside”.

The Cruz Bag was inspired by Loewe’s iconic Amazona bag, but reinterpreted into a more squarish silhouette in grained calf, in both solid colours with contrast-coloured piping or finished with a polka dot print for a touch of whimsy. Available in 3 sizes, choose from a variety of colourways such as brown, black, blue and purple. SLGs like coin purses and large zip wallets are also part of the Limited Edition collection.

I’ve personally checked out this collection during a recent trip to Hong Kong 2 weeks back and no surprises for guessing my favourite because it’s just too easy. Yep, I love pops of colour so it would definitely have to be the grey with the fuchsia piping and details in the smallest size which is super cute, not to mention, small bags are all the rage right now so it’s right on trend!  Since Loewe is taking a hiatus in Malaysia right now (don’t worry, they will be reopening in KL next year! yay!), the nearest Loewe boutique for us would be over the Causeway in Singapore’s Ngee Ann City.
