Bottega Veneta Cruise 2018 Bags
For the Cruise 2018 collection, Bottega Veneta Creative Director Tomas Maier comments, that “[n]othing is tone on tone, or matchy-matchy”. Although I do like matchy-matchy, what I love even more, is colour-blocking. At this point, you can probably already imagine how excited I was about the collection, where virtually almost all the bags were colour-blocked in some way, be they in subtler, or more striking hues. Cobalt Blue, Bright Pink, and Fiery Red reign in this collection.
While there were the Classics like the Knot Clutch, Olimpia, and the Lauren clutch with circular motifs that seemed like leather was overlayed over grommets that came in two-sizes, as well as the latest City Knot, which was just introduced in the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, what Maier did, was also introduce new styles to the Cruise 2018 collection.
A close cousin to the City Knot, the Chain Knot, which comes in a slightly larger size and without the satchel-like buckles, is the latest addition to the growing Knot family. The Piazza bag is yet another silhouette, that comes with a flap top, top handle, as well as a long shoulder strap.
Last but certainly not the least, is the hobo-styled Loop bag, revived from the 2002 archives, which has been updated with new hardware.
Stay tuned to for tomorrow’s blogpost, in which I’ll be featuring the latest Bottega Veneta Cruise 2018 collection for Men! 😉 Yes, I know there are guys out there reading this – I haven’t forgotten about you! ;D
