Bottega Veneta Celebrates the Knot in St. Tropez
Bottega Veneta’s video campaign, “When Your Initials Are Enough: The Knot” showcasing the craftsmanship and DNA of the iconic Knot clutch culminated in a glorious private fete held at the brand’s St. Tropez boutique. The Knot Retrospective took over the entire store in a museum-like exhibit with over 300 Knot clutches.
The 300 Knots on display ranged from archival pieces – Tomas Maier actually revived and reinterpreted Bottega’s box clutch from the archives in 2001 and turned it into an icon that it is today -to recent and current season variations.
As Creative Director Tomas Maier says, “The Knot is one of Bottega Veneta’s signature pieces, offered each season in limited editions and quantities [between 25 to 100 depending on design] that make it a collector’s item, while always maintaining its iconic shape. Recognised and collected fro its unique design, unrivalled quality and individual style, the Knot is a symbol of the company’s past as well as its future. For me personally, it is a continuous opportunity for a special kind of creative exploration.”
