Kate Spade’s latest collaboration is with New York-based artist Craig Redman. This Limited Edition Capsule Collection features Redman’s illustrations, particularly an illustrated character he has named Darcel, a.k.a. “Darcel disappoints” – an illustrated tongue-in-cheek series for Redman’s blog chronicling daily life in New York City.
Having starred in collaborations with Collete in Paris, Teen Vogue, Style.com, and even Louis Vuitton, Darcel has also been featured in art exhibits the world over. And what could be more perfect than the New York-themed month of August on the Kate Spade fashion calendar?
The Kate Spade x Darcel collection comprises everything from tees and sweatshirts to jewellery and accessories such as key fobs and scarves, bags and small leather goods. Oh and apart from the Darcel Character, food-themed prints such as donuts, hot dogs, apples (a reference to the Big Apple) and pretzels, too, are one of the central features in this collection.
