#PFW: Louis Vuitton’s FW17 Bags Report
The Verdict: For Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 17 collection, Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiere gave us silhouettes that seemed like new variations of existing Vuitton bags, along with what he has made into Vuitton’s New Classics. The show opened with bags that were similar to the City Steamer with the same boxy shape and padlock detail, except for the fact that they were given a flap to go with it, instead of an open top, like its predecessor, followed by another style that was quite similar, except more rectangular in shape, with brogue-like trims and a different sort of clasp. Apart from these, the collection mainly comprised styles that were familiar to us: The Speedy and the Palm Springs backpack, now in smooth leather, given reflector strip-like detailing only had a hint of the classic monogram on the zipper pull, the Twist (my fave was the white one with the thin reflector strip!), and then of course, my absolute favourite, the Petite Malle came in a gorgeous olive and teal bicolour combo, and sparkly über-luxe version with monochromatic and orange-and-black Damier checks, with strassed hardware, and yes, this included the padlock and the chain link! So much LOVE! *insert heart eyes emoji*
