Delvaux has just introduced a brand new bag for Spring/Summer 18. Called the “Cool Box”, it’s slightly boxier than the classic “Tempete” and “Brilliant” bags, and rightly so. Only one piece of leather is used to construct this flat, six-sided beauty. Yep, you read that right!

Okay, so “Box”, check. But what makes it such a “Cool Box”? Well, the “cool factor” comes from its concealed zipper! All you have to do is to pull on the signature “D” clasp, and the voila, you have your zipper in full view. I guess some of you might have your concerns because it seems like there’s more to fiddle with especially when you’re in a hurry and need to retrieve something from your bag, stat. But, looking at it from a more positive standpoint, the hidden zipper can become a “security feature” of the bag, sort of like a pickpocket’s deterrent, don’t you think?

Made from Taurillon leather, which is known for its suppleness and resilience, this is nonetheless lightweight, thanks to the absence of an inner lining. The Cool Box comes with a detachable shoulder strap, and is available in 2 sizes: Regular (28 x 16.5 x 12.5 cm) and Mini (23 x 13 x 11 cm). See above photos for size comparison.

For SS18, the boxy leather bag comes in Vibrant Paprika (Orange), Safran (Yellow), and Nakuru, along with more classic colours including black, and white. My fave would definitely have to be the regular-sized version in Paprika with the contrast blue piping.
