The North Face x Gucci Capsule Collection
Renowned outdoor sportswear brand The North Face has collaborated with Gucci on a Capsule Collection featuring men’s and women’s ready-to-wear from quilted jackets, sweatshirts, goose-feather down padded coats, skirts, shirts, and jumpsuits – all of which are based on The North Face’s original arrival designs from the 1970s); soft accessories; luggage made from ECONYL®, recycled nylon fabric made from oceanic and marine waste (including backpacks and belt bags), a pair of boots with eyelets, striped-rope laces and fitted with a Goodyear-welted sole in 3 colours as well as more utilitarian outdoorsy equipment such as tents and sleeping bags in true The North Face tradition.
And, in the true spirit of collaboration, you’d find both The North Face x Gucci combined logo on all the items in the collection, which would be packaged in vibrant pink garment and carrier bags, boxes, and pouches made from sustainably managed forest sources as well as an uncoated paper to ensure 100% recyclability. Boxes, too, are fitted with handles, to minimise the use of paper bags.
In the same spirit of exploration, Creative Director Alessandro Michele has come up with a campaign shot by Daniel Shea in the Alps as we embark on an outdoorsy adventure with the Gucci-clad hikers camping by the lakes. This scenic backdrop is the perfect vibe that evokes the 1970s aesthetic, when The North Face was the thriving outdoor retailed based in Berkeley, California, and shared a factory and storefront adjacent to Credence Clearwater Revival’s practice studio. And because of that, you’d be hearing their popular song “Bad Moon Rising” throughout the video.
The North Face x Gucci Capsule drops in stores this Friday, 8th January, with special online exclusives on the official website
