If you're thinking that these Hermès Verrou bags remind you of those latches or locks on doors, then you're probably right, because "Verrou" translates to "lock". The Verrou collection is available in 2 sizes: the regular size comes with a leather shoulder strap, while the mini version comes with a chain-link shoulder strap in Mysore goatskin, hence called the Verrou Chaîne Mini.
If you haven't already noticed, I am a huge fan of chunky hardware details, and the Verrou manages to achieve that, yet still remain elegant and somewhat minimalist, instead of biker or edgy. If you're wondering which I prefer, it definitely has to be the Verrou Chaîne Mini because I think the chain shoulder strap goes much better with the bag than the leather strap. Also, I have to say, that I'm really loving the seasonal bags from Hermès SS17 collection because they make for a nice change compared to the Holy Grail classics that we've become so accustomed to seeing and come to associate as it being synonymous with the Maison. The Verrou is certainly a breath of fresh air! What say you?
