The Lady Dior Art Project For Art Basel 2016

Dior has collaborated with 7 artists to reinvent the iconic Lady Dior bag for the upcoming Miami Art Basel on November 29th. There will be a total of just 100 Limited Edition pieces from each artist, worldwide.

Brooklyn-based photographer Matthew Porter takes inspiration from a car suspended in mid-air above a traffic light on one side, and an interesting graphic print on the other side. Because there are 2 different prints on each side, it really seems as if it's 2 bags for the price of one. I prefer the graphic side with the car charm facing outwards.

Artist Marc Quinn first collaborated with Dior in June this year, when he put his oil paintings on the Lady Dior for the opening of the London boutique. Here's this 'eye' motif version that he designed as part of this Art Basel Lady Dior project.

Another black and white graphic print, American artist Daniel Gordon pays homage to Dior's signature Cannage motif.

British artist Mat Collishaw showcases his love for nature with this butterfly design and black hardware.

Chris Martin's Lady Dior features his artwork "Frog 1"

Jason Martin created these 3-dimensional curves in this brilliant copper coloured Lady Dior

Ian Davenport reinterpreted his series of paintings entitled Colourfall, which he made by using syringes to inject paint onto metal surfaces like aluminium and stainless steel, to create one of his bags. Love the end result which is a juxtaposition between lines, and watercolour-like smears at the bottom. And that intensity of colour!

Lady Dior aside, there will also be a collection of accessories which are also part of this Lady Dior Art Project, including fashion jewellery, key rings, and even purses!

After Miami Art Basel, the bags would be going on a world tour, to Los Angeles, Korea, London, China, Dubai, and Paris.
