Marc Newson has collaborated with Louis Vuitton for the second time. The result is a new range of rolling luggage bags in numerous variations: Taiga leather in cowhide leather, Damier Graphite, the Monogram Canvas, and a rainbow of 7 colours of Epi Leather. Super lightweight and shock resistant, and 50% lighter than the existing ones, the Monogram canvas and Damier come with an anodised aluminium extendable cane which is now positioned outside the trunk instead of inside.

A transversal side hinge has also been built into the bag - an inspiration from Vuitton's traditional hard trunks, which allow for a flat 180-degree opening. Yet another trunk-inspired detail are the natural cowhide leather-covered corners. All of the bags come with a three-digit combination along with TSA lock, a single zipper pull, silent wheels with 360 degree movement.
These new trunks come with a protective cover, a removable interior removable "x" strap (shown above) and a removable mesh screen divider panel. Padded computer sleeves, accessories pouches, a garment bag, and a set of 2 shoe pouches can be purchased separately.
These wheelie bags are also 15% roomier than the current Vuitton rolling luggage collections, and weighs in at 2.7 kilos for the 50cm size, and 3 kilos for the 55cm size. A check-in size 70 (70cm will follow in the near future).
Designer Marc Newson comments,
"I think it's safe to say that we're striving to break new ground in terms of developing peoucxut which is one of the lightest on the market, and from a technical perspective is one of the most rigorously designed and engineered. ... I'm obsessive about packing everything into a bag of a certain size which is why it is so important for me to design a product that could tick all of those boxes and be the kind of the perfect piece of luggage for a person like me, that travels and won't travel with anything more than is absolutely necessary"
