Christie's will be holding their third annual Handbag and Accessories auction on Marc 5 in Paris. The auction will feature rare and special edition pieces from Hermès, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.
The Vert Celadon Natura Kelly 28 is one of the items up for grabs. This vintage exotic skin piece was made when Hermès still left the original skin colour on exotic skin handbags because back in the days, the process for the removal of natural pigment had not been developed yet. In 2000, Hermès actually brought this sort of untreated skin treatment back on their bags for a more authentic exotic feel.
Another Hermès exotic skin bag, the Himalaya Birkin 35 will also be up for auction. The bag will be offered between €70,000 to €90,000, the So Black Birkin 35 with its black plated hardware is estimated to go for €40,000 to €45,000 the more recent Kelly Picnic 35 in a combination of barenia leather and wicker, and a bespoke Kelly 32 in Bleu Saphir, Bleu Marine and Bleu Jean alligator.
