Always one of the forerunners when it comes to cutting-edge brand experience in the digital realm, following its Apple TV launch on January 8th, Burberry became the first luxury brand to livestream a fashion show live on this platform.
The epigraph that appeared right on top of Burberry's Men's Autumn/Winter 16 collection notes is something that we usually see (and hear) during the lead-up to a girl's wedding day: "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue". But no, there was nothing wedding-y about this collection. Instead, it had to do with the marriage of various styles and seasons. It was a fusion between the formal, sporty, casual alongside reissue outerwear which consisted of topcoats, duffle coats, and bomber jackets in double splittable check wool, tweed and nylon twill with military details in navy, claret, and dark green, all of which we all saw on models coming down the runway with Benjamin Clementine's live performance as the soundtrack.
For Autumn/Winter 16, the man bag of the season is this satchel. Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is that with the absence of leather belt buckle fasteners and a crossbody strap, this doesn't really remind you of a satchel. Well, traditional satchel or not, this is Creative Director Christopher Bailey's reinterpretation of a satchel, and it comes with contrast-coloured topstitching.
If you love the collection and can't wait to get your hands on the outerwear or the bag, you can shop the collection on the Official Website from now until January 21st. All orders made during this period will bear this leather patch on the interior of your item, with your initials embossed onto them without any additional cost, and you'd receive your item 3 months before they hit stores too!
Head on over to the website to shop the collection, or if you missed the show live, you can watch the FULL show right here via the on-demand video service!
