For me, being outside is the number one thing. The more I can get out of an urban environment, the better it gets. This collection started with the outdoors, hiking, sailing, big nature.
It was precisely this outdoorsy design aesthetic that was reflected in the SS16 bags. The drawstring pulls and hardware rings at the end of them, reminiscent of the rings on hiking and rock climbing harnesses, while the leather and exotic skin rope trims on the bags resembled that of nautical ropes (but thinner and more refined, of course). The marquetry technique was also used to create a patchwork of exotic skin patterns that felt almost ethnic. In terms of silhouettes it ranged from there were totes to slouchy buttery soft bags, and accordion-style to something that's slightly more structured. And of course, the usual suspects, the Cabat and Knot clutch also made their runway appearance.
