#MFW: Fendi SS16 Runway and Bags Report

Fendi's Spring/Summer 16 Ready-to-Wear collection was primarily a combination of a white, red, coral, black, khaki, and navy colour palette, with plenty of floral embellishments. And, with the bloomers and cuffed sleeves, it was, to say the least, a superbly voluminous collection. The major thematic detail that also translated over to the leather goods (i.e. bags), was the super chunky whipstitched details over grommets.

For SS16, a new top handle bag that dominated the runway is something like a zippered version of the Peekaboo sans turnlock clasp (think Celiné's Edge) that came in a variation of quilted with grommets and a chunky whipstitched or python shoulder strap, embellished with leather flowers, or in solid-coloured leather with leather flowered embellished strap, or python with whipstitched details in front.

And then there was something that seems like an updated miniature version of the 3Baguette. With its  collapsible top handle and detachable thick leather strap except that from its side profile, it also looked (from the side profile), as if there were 2 of them them sewn to each other.

The By The Way also made an appearance on the runway, this time either arranged in a diamond-shaped patchwork of exotic skins reminiscent of Roger Vivier bags, woven in raffia, or embellished with the 3-dimensional leather flowers.

Of course, there's the Peekaboo, also with the same 3-dimensional florals and chunky leather whipstitched detailing that I rather like. In fact, it's the first time I've liked a Peekaboo in a long while!
