Fendi's "The Armchair of Thousand Eyes" at Salone del Mobile

For this year's Salone del Mobile, Fendi has collaborated with Fernando and Humberto Campana  of Estudio Campana on several one-of-a-kind pieces. The most notable of which is called "The Armchair of Thousand Eyes"

"The Armchair of Thousand Eyes" is really that. The Campana brothers had assembled more than 100 Fendi Bag Bugs in various sizes made of Kidassia, Mongolia, Shearling, and Rabbit by the Fendi artisans into an armchair.

Silvia Venturini Fendi on the collaboration:
I have known and followed Fernando and Humberto Campana for quite several years now. We share the same passion for creativity and love for Brazil, which also originally inspired me for the Bag Bugs. It has come therefore quite naturally to me to think of them for this armchair, as well as for their use of objects in such unexpected ways. I simply loved it!

Humberto Campana says that when he:
saw the Bag Bugs, these FENDI little monster charms, for the very first time, I thought that they would be perfect for creating a striking chair. One year later it is exactly what has happened, thanks to Silvia Venturini Fendi who involved me in this project. It was perfect! Like the universe conspiring in my favour.

The chair is modeled after the Campana brothers' "Banquete" chair which is made of stuffed animals that were hand-sewn onto a canvas cover over a stainless steel frame.  So, how do you feel about sitting on more than 100 Fendi Bag Bugs in the softest exotic furs around?
