The Verdict: Valentino’s Fall/Winter 14 collection was a mix of graphic and minimalist. Gone are the rockstuds that we love! I know that some say they wouldn’t be able to tolerate yet another stud-filled season, but I am mourning their disappearance! Studs are still there, but in the form of very teeny-tiny round dots for some of the bags. And for others, the studs on the handles were replaced by braided handles, which also seemed to be a detail that went onto the shoes. Graphic prints came in the form of oversized  polka dots, bold stripes,  diamond-shaped patchwork (which reminded me of mosaic and tiles) and butterfly, flower and bird in metallic embroidery, which is a carry-over from the Maison’s Pre-Fall Haute Couture collection. In fact, bags aside, the last few evening looks were more Couture than Ready-to-Wear, especially the closing look!
