Michael Kors's #WatchHungerStop Campaign for World Food Day

We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. But for Michael Kors, he's dedicating the entire month of October to combat World Hunger. This month-long initiative kicked off on World Food Day (today!). Bloggers, models, fashion editors (including Anna Dello Russo!) and celebrities have been called to participate in this Global campaign on Instagram, where each of them upload photos of themselves wearing the #WatchHungerStop t-shirts using the hashtag. Today, the Michael Kors team would be distributing these same t-shirts outside six stores in 5 major cities: New York, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Those who received the tees would be able to enter a photo booth (or a Phhhoto Station) to have their picture taken with the shirts on. Phhhoto images would then be streamed live for the whole of today on a billboard in NYC's Times Square as well as the dedicated Watch Hunger Stop microsite.

The Watch Hunger Stop campaign had already kicked off in April this year, and have since fed 1.5 million meals to children. "Our hope for World Food Day is to get people talking about hunger, and about the many ways they can help address the problem. Donate, volunteer, talk, terxt, tweert - really, everyone can be an ambassador", says Michael Kors.

To further the philanthropic endeavours, Michael Kors has created the 100 series watch (shown below)

These unisex watches are available in 2 sizes - mid size and oversized - and retails for US$295 each. For every 100 Series watch sold, Michael Kors will donate US$25 to the United Nations World Food Programme. For those of us in Malaysia, you can purchase the watch at the Michael Kors boutiques at Pavilion and One Utama for RM 1,199
