The Row Collaborates with Damien Hirst

Online e-tailer Just One Eye‘s latest project is another attempt at merging the previously disparate fields of fashion and art. In short, their aim is to promote established designers and artists through designer collaborations.
The first in the series of curated artistic partnerships, Just One Eye’s debut collaboration for this programme is the collab between the Olsen sisters luxe label, 2012 CFDA Award winners The Row and artist Damien Hirst.

Hirst lends his artistic hand to the “Nile” backpack in crocodile leather in this collection made up of 12 Limited Edition designs, with a portion of each sale to benefit UNICEF.

At the mere mention of any bag from The Row, you would probably know that it’s going to set you back at least 10 grand (USD). But guess what? Each of these bags retails at a whopping USD35,000 a pop! If I had that kind of money, I’d rather a blow it on few Birkins, to be honest, plus I’ve never been a fan of backpacks. Oh and don’t the pill-embellished backpacks remind you ever so slightly of Jeffrey Campbell’s “Happy Pills” Longchamp Le Pliage  tote?
