Splurge or Steal: Glitter Envelope Clutches

The end of the year is fast approaching, and we’re well and truly into the Holiday season. Apart from the fact that yes, Christmas is just around the corner, it also means that end-of-year soirées and glamourous balls are upon us. With that, I welcome you to November’s Splurge or Steal segment, featuring sparkly party-ready envelope clutches.

My choice for this month’s Splurge is the Valorie clutch by Anya Hindmarch. It has always been one of my personal favourites – ever since its launch in Autumn/Winter 2011 – it’s one of the best for glitzy events and cocktail parties! Now, if you’re worrying that the glitter might come off or that the colour might fade, let me tell you that it hardly ever does – I’ve had mine for over a year, so I can personally vouch for the fact that you won’t get snowed over whenever you use this. However, you do have to be careful, when you have on delicate clothing (like silks, chiffons and satins) because the Valorie’s surface is a little coarse, so it might snag your clothes. At RM 2,190, it’s certainly a worthwhile investment if you want a sophisticated evening clutch.

Since H&M is all the rage right now, I’ve picked out this envelope clutch for this month’s Steal. It’s a great clutch to have when you’re partying the night away, and I’m saying this is because whenever I go clubbing (well, which isn’t very often at all, but still … ) the thing that I really hate most is the smell of stale cigarette smoke in my hair and everything else, and that includes my bag. Since then, I’ve learnt to never take a designer bag out whenever I’m heading to the club or pub. But for such occasions, this shimmery beauty is the perfect alternative not only because you’ll look fabulous but at RM 39.90, it’s most certainly wallet-friendly, and is great for any fashionista on a budget.

Would you be taking the Valorie or H&M with you to celebrate the festivities?
