Roberto Cavalli’s Neon Python Snake-Clasp Clutch — Even the name Sounds Exotic!!

Tis the season of extremes: on one end of the spectrum, soft pretty pastels, and on the other, super eye-popping neons. So today’s post is of the neon sort…fuchsia, or rather, fluorescent pink seems more like it. And while it’s true that I’m more of a neon fan compared to pastels, that’s not the only reason I picked this clutch out today. Well actually, it’s … shall we say, a quarter of the truth. The main reason why I picked this out is because (and I’m sure y’all know this by now!) I’m a total Bottega Veneta Knot Clutch fangirl, and if I had all the money in the world to spend, I’d be collecting those babies by the dozens each season. A girl can dream… If only.. And I thought this Roberto Cavalli snake-clasp clutch really reminded me of the Bottega Knot, but a more edgy version…

I love the geometrical silhouette of this python clutch. And doesn’t the clasp look similar to BV’s knot? Well, I really thought so… until I saw it up close…

Only after I saw the closeup of the clasp detail did I understand why Roberto Cavalli called it a snake-clasp clutch… and I know that some of you might freak out at the green “eye” and yes, I’m fine with python and snakeskins (because I know they literally make some of my friends’ skins crawl), but the a python skin that actually has a “snake” motif or detail? Well, that’s when I start to freak out. That aside, it’s really pretty! If only the eye wasn’t there… sigh..  That said, it’s also got a little bit of a resemblance to the Bottega Veneta Knot clutch, especially its side profile, no?
