Loewe’s “Diary of a Collection” for Spring/Summer 2012

In the days leading up to their Spring/Summer 2012 show on October 1st 2012, Loewe provided us with an insight into the work that goes into putting a collection together – from the inspirations, to the artisans, to the sneak peek of the collection – which they called “Diary of a Collection”, put up on Twitter via their account, @loewemadrid.

So here are the images!

Firstly, the inspiration behind the collection: the town of Alhambra in Granada, the south of Spain. The collection was inspired by the geometric shapes of Andalusian architecture, which was translated onto fabrics which make up Loewe’s S/S 2012’s prints

The geometric patterns from this were used as the cut-out perforated patterns on Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2012 belts

I love this behind-the-scenes concept and I think that all brands should do it in the lead-up to showing their collection because sometimes, knowing what to expect can be a good thing =)
