The Birkin Goes Sporty for Spring/Summer 2011

With the racing stripes right down the middle, the Birkin 30 Club from Hermes's SS 2011 collection is a fresh take on a timeless iconic piece. The stripes appear to be sporty, and for the younger market. For ladies who lunch with multiple Birkins, this is something that they'd get their daughter -- it's still classic but slightly more casual, not to mention, youthful; or maybe for someone who has had their eye on the Birkin but felt that it was a tad too mature for them. I see the sporty stripes as akin to injecting a little collagen or botox to smooth out one's maturity. Although it is guaranteed to appeal to a younger market, luxury isn't compromised -- the Mykonos blue stripes (they also come in blood orange if you're not a fan of blue) that you see are made of lizard.

Prices are available upon request.
