New Year's Eve Party Special: Clutches

Now that New Year's Eve is literally just around the corner, and only 2 days away, here are my favourite picks to party into the New Year with!

Judith Leiber
Sex and the City launched the careers of many designers and brands; American designer Judith Leiber is one of them. I'm sure many of us SATC fans remember the time when Mr. Big gave Carrie a bejewelled mandarin duck minaudiere by Judith Leiber. Leiber was again seen on Charlotte's daughter in the SATC movie carrying a cupcake minaudiere.

Leiber is known for her quirky bejewelled 3-dimensional hard-cased minaudieres in all shapes and animals imaginable, each of them in itself, a work of art. They retail at anywhere between $2,000++ up to $7,o00++. I'm guessing you're expecting me to feature one of her renowned creations...

Well, guess what, this time I'm not doing that. My New Year's Eve pick from Leiber is the Alleta Ombre Python Minaudiere, embellished with just a few crystal accents at the closure. Love the colour and the metallic centre. Retails at $1,995 via Neiman Marcus

If you're looking for something minimalist, understated and yet chic at the same time, this large "Y" Cork and Patent Leather clutch by YSL is the way to go. It's very rare that we see cork used on bags, and I love cork accents, even on wedges. Love this because I'm pretty sure no one else will be sporting a cork clutch. $550 via Saks.

If you want the option of having your hands free while you party the night away, this brightly coloured Savanna Mini Mamma Bag is for you! I must say that I had the opportunity to look at this bag at the Fendi boutique and this picture just doesn't do it justice! $995 via Barneys and available for RM 3,000++ at Fendi KLCC and Star Hill. Also available in Black if Yellow ain't your thing.

Next up, Balenciaga of course! Balenciaga-holic that I am, how could I NOT include a Balenciaga in my list? ;D

I have to say that although I LOVE the giant studs, I prefer the Envelope clutch with covered giant hardware instead! Well, I know black is a tad boring (they used to have it in fire engine red which I loved! - and that's saying A LOT because I am not a fan of red and don't own a bag or single article of clothing in red!) so just make sure you pair this with a colourful, printed or sequinned outfit! £645 via Balenciaga Online

One of my favourite clutches ever! Opt for this for a more edgy look!

While the Balenciaga was edgier, the next two are more feminine.

I've been a fan of Bottega Veneta's knot clutch for the longest time. These 2 variations of the Knot clutch from the Fall/Winter 2010 collection are my favourites!!

Pointillisme Intrecciato Knot Clutch in Antique Pink

The Gold Pyrite Scarabee Oxydized Silver Bug Knot (Scarabs took centrestage for the F/W collection).

Both clutches are available at Bottega Veneta Online, price unavailable.

Which is YOUR favourite?
