Celine's New Image




Phoebe Philo has a knack for turning under-the-radar brands into fashion royalty. We saw Chloe emerge as an A List brand and has been ever since after its iconic Paddington. Now, with Phoebe assuming the role as creative director of Celine, the bags have almost become unrecognisable, and I totally mean this in a good way. Apart from the brand's iconic Boogie bag designed by Michael Kors during his tenure as creative director, all the other Celine bags just seem rather boring. From it's signature monogram to its more vintage logo with the horse carriage, it felt as if it was more of the same type of bags in different variations. With Philo's debut S/S 2010 collection for the brand, the bags have undergone drastic transformations. The result? I love it, especially the bag shown above. In fact, it's almost hard to believe that it bears the Celine name on it.
