Fashion Week (Milan): Fendi F/W 2010

The Verdict: Exotics, feathers, and a vintage feel. These three words just about sum up Fendi's F/W 2010 collection. As with most F/W collections, Exotics usually are a prominent feature, and Fendi is no exception. Most of the bags seem to be, made of stingray (due to the caviar-like look that the bags sport). Either that, or it's actually pebbled leather. But if it's stingray, I suppose that Fendi is taking the Exotics trend a step further compared to other designers who utilise the usual suspects, i.e. python, croc, ostrich, pony hair and sometimes lizard and eel. Apart from that, Fendi showcases an array mostly squarish and rectangular bags which are rather minimalist in terms of design. With its clean lines and vintage feel (well, except for the bags with feather embellishments that is), it's a similar vibe that we saw on Gucci's F/W 2010 runway.

However, even for a Fendi fan like myself, the bags in this collection are too boxy for my liking. Perhaps the only bag I'd consider using would be the yellow Peekaboo with leopard print lining.
