Presenting: Louis Vuitton S/S 2010

The Verdict: There are no other ways than to sum up MJ's Vuitton S/S 2010 collection other than these words -- OMG! What was MJ (not) thinking?!? Perhaps the only thing I can just about surmise from this collection is that he's possibly trying to revive the utilitarian look circa World War 2. I mean... ok, fine, we've established that Sling/Messenger bags are going to be BIG come S/S 2010 but what's up with the backpacks, waistpouches, and oversized duffle-like backpacks? They look like portable punching bags that we see dangling from the ceilings of kickboxing classes (albeit with handles) or using your bolster as a backpack.

Oh and just don't get me started on those embellishments! I mean, what's up with the racoon-tail "charms" ala Davy Crockett that adorn the bags? Oh and the EXTRA-long tassels and shorter pom-pom like tassels. Perhaps pick either instead of using ALL 3 on the same bag? Just a word of advice, MJ. Leave the tassels to Nicholas Ghesqueire of Balenciaga. He does it so much more tastefully.

Utilitarian look has definitely been achieved, but one that's SO NOT CHIC. In fact, it looks as if MJ is rather confused about what he's trying to achieve with Vuitton's S/S 2010. You want utilitarian chic? Burberry trenches might just do the trick, but unfortunately, I can't say the same for this collection.

Perhaps the only nice thing I can commend MJ on is the collection's colour palette. ADORE the pastel shades that MJ has selected. It could've been an otherwise feminine and flirtatious collection if MJ went for less utilitarian, oversized and over-embellished looks.
