Chanel's Graffiti Mini Flap Bag

Those of you who follow me on Instagram would recognise this photo from last week. Yep, last Friday, I paid Chanel a visit and couldn't take my eyes off this mini flap bag from the Spring/Summer 14 runway collection. And no, don't let your eyes betray you because it isn't canvas, but calf leather! That's right. Tis the season of all things graffiti and artsy fartsy at Chanel and I really really REALLY am lusting over this right now. MAJOR love, and the stuff fantasies are made of. Mummy dearest didn't approve though because she says it looks like a child scrawled all over it with crayons, *pfft and sobs*, so I came home with another mini Chanel bag instead.

This graffiti mini flap retails for RM10,000+. If mini is too small, it's available in a larger size, but this is WAAAAYYYY cuter. Someone please buy this and tag me (@bagaddictsanon) on Twitter and/or Instagram so that I can live vicariously through you!

Newsflash: Alexander Wang Collaborates with H&M!

In his

For first Instagram post, Alexander Wang broke the news of his latest collaboration yesterday, and it's with none other than Swedish fast fashion giant, H&M!

I, for one, couldn't have been more stoked with this announcement because apart from Nicolas Ghesquiere, Wang is another of my favourite designers! So far, there are no soundbites from either Wang or H&M as yet, but do stay tuned for updates!

And please note that the collaboration will land at H&M stores globally and online, on November 6th (not 11th June as the Americans state the Month before the date!)

Who's excited?

Chloe Perforated Paraty

Okay, so this is a blogpost that is rather unexpected for me because:

1)  I've never been a fan of perforated anything no matter its shape or form.
2) I used to be a HUGE fan of the Paraty (years ago) and despite it still being one of the Chloé classics, I believe that it it's a bag which has already enjoyed its heydays.

But then I started to reconsider because I was drawn to the bag without first realising it was perforated. This was how my thought process went when I saw it.. "hmm.. Paraty, okay, meh. Ooohh wait, small spotted little silver studs. *gets in for a closer inspection* only to realise it was perforated... so hm, how DO I feel about it? *Rehashes the aforementioned reasons to self* Fine, it really isn't too bad."  Yes, that really is how I think, haha.

So the reason I'm featuring this Perforated Paraty today is mainly because the perforations look more like small dark gunmetal studs. Yes, despite some say they're tired of studs and can't stand to see yet another studded season on any bag, I will always have a love affair with them.

Prada's Double Bag

You've all seen Prada's latest offering, the Double Bag. A walk through Pavilion or KLCC and you'd have seen it in Prada's windows. Its name "Double" (pronounced "doo-blay") is rather misleading because people often thing that it's 2 bags in one, or, a bag within a bag. And it isn't really that at all.

The "Double" refers to the two different types of leathers (shown above) used in the construction of this bag - Saffiano on the exterior, and lined with Nappa on the interior that makes it extremely lightweight. In fact, it's one of Prada's lightest bags (well, if you don't include the nylon range) in a long time. Extremely chic for the office, the double bag is an artisanal piece, that takes 5 hours to complete. And it's made even more beautiful because the interior colours are totally different from the exterior, with its raw edges sealed in the same hue as the interior colour so you have a nice peekaboo effect on the handles and edges.

Available in 10 different colours, it retails at RM 9,140.

Now watch how the bag is made in this video:

Balenciaga's Metallic Edge Collection

Okay, now there's quite a bit of confusion when it comes to this new collection by Balenciaga. Some have dubbed as the new "Animation" collection, known as such in Germany and subsequently, Club21 has on their Instagram account (which, I must admit, confused me at first because, well, animation usually refers to some sort of illustration or cartoonesque sketches or figurine motifs and there were none to be found on this bag). But, as per the website, it was named as the "Metallic Edge", which, to be honest, makes more sense, now, doesn't it? After all, as Shakespeare DID say in Romeo and Juliet, "What's in a name? " and a name, more often than not, should make sense. Ah, well. *shrugs*

Anyway, however it is you'd like to refer to this collection - Animation or Metallic Edge - you might've noticed that what's new about this is the metallic gold outlines on the leather overlays on the bag. Personally, I ain't really a fan, except maybe only the light grey and beige versions because they look classy in those colours, but honestly, they look kinda cheap and *gasp* fake even, on the other colour options like Black and burgundy. And yes, I totally just said that, as huge as a Balenciaga and Alexander Wang fangirl that I am.  Whoops. But hey, as much as we all love certain brands, we can't all like everything from it now, can we? I mean, think about it, if we do, it would make the brand one-dimensional and catering only to the needs of a certain type of customer.

Metallic Edge Velo (here)

It's available in 4 styles: Mini City, City, Velo, and the Envelope Clutch, and in colour options such as light grey, black, burgundy, and beige. The City and Mini City versions are sold out in KL's Balenciaga boutique at Suria KLCC, so only the envelope clutch is available in light grey and black and priced at RM 3,990.
